Oscars 2001

Oscars 2001

The 73rd Academy Awards were held on March 21, 2001. The grand ceremony took place at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium. Almost 43 million people tuned in to watch the award show, which was extremely successful! Comedian Steve Martin hosted the ceremony and did an amazing job, making the ceremony very funny and humorous. The Oscars 2001 were very successful and I personally enjoyed them very much!

The epic-hisotrical movie, Gladiator, took home 5 awards! These awards include Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role (Russell Crowe), Best Visual Effects, Best Costume Design, and Best Sound Mixing. Julia Roberts took home the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role in Erin Brockovich. Plus, she looked dazzling in a black and white Valentino Dress! Benicio del Toro won Best Supporting Actor and Marcia Gay Harden won Best Supporting Actress. The movie Traffic was also a big winner winning 4 Oscars! The producers made a great job on making the 73rd Academy Awards truly fantastic!
