Oscars 2004
The 76th Academy Awards took place on February 29, 2004 once again at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. The Oscars were extremely successful scoring 43.56 million views, much more views than last year's ceremony. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King broke a record, winning 11 awards including Best Director and Best Picture. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World and Mystic River each won 2 Academy Awards.
Sean Penn won Best Actor for his role in Mystic River, while Charlize Theron won Best Actress for her role in Monster. Tim Robbins won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Mystic River as well. In the Best Supporting Actress category, Renee Zellweger was the winner for her role in Cold Mountain. Finding Nemo won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. I enjoyed watching the 76th Academy Awards, all the movies that won were extremely good and deserving of their awards, specially The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
